Tree of Lights & Wreath Auction

Dakota Hospital Foundation is hosting the annual Tree of Lights fundraiser now through December 15. Proceeds from the Tree of Lights project will assist DHF in funding diagnostic equipment for the Radiology Department at Sanford Medical Center Vermillion.

The Tree of Lights project provides community members with the opportunity to purchase a light in memory of, in honor of, or as a special holiday greeting to a friends, family or co-workers.

The majestic four-story evergreen located at the corner of Main and Plum Streets at Sanford Vermillion has been designated for the touching display.  The Tree of Lights will remain lit throughout the Holiday Season. 

Purchase a light for someone you know to serve as a unique holiday gift. With provision of the appropriate information, anyone recognized through the purchase of a light will receive the gift of a special holiday ornament card. All lights purchased by December 9 will be recognized in the Tree of Lights thank you ad published the week of Christmas.

For the first time, Dakota Hospital Foundation, added a holiday wreath decorating contest and auction.  Community members, businesses & organizations were invited to purchase a live wreath and decorate it.  We were thrilled to have 24 wreaths submitted for judging.  Congratulations to ALL participants. The following winners were named in each category.

Wreaths were auctioned during the Tree of Lights Open House held on December 1, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Al Neuharth Media Center.

Hazen Bye, local auctioneer and former DHF Board member led a lively auction.  The auction of the 25 wreath's resulted in over $4,600 raised!!
